Katie & Carlos
Hi there! We are Katie and Carlos. We are super excited to have the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia (17th time for Katie, 1st time for Carlos!), to serve The Breakfast Club kids and to support the incredible ministry that goes on there every day!
Katie has been serving in Ethiopia as a missionary for over 10 years doing community transformation, church planting and anti-trafficking work. As someone who used to lead mission trips, she is very excited to be in a support role; supporting her dear friend and souls sista Allysa Bassir of The Breakfast Club! Katie’s passion for introducing people around the world to Jesus is undeniable and she has experienced 10’s of thousands of people coming to Christ around the world.
Carlos is new to the missions scene. He and Katie have been dating for over a year and Carlos is excited to share in an experience that has been so important to her for so many years. In addition, Carlos is anxious to see a new part of God’s beautiful planet and to use his gifts to serve the children and staff at The Breakfast Club!
Thank you for joining us in this ministry!
Hello! I’m Brynnan de Encio and I am currently a college student studying to become an elementary school teacher. God has placed the desire in my heart to do ministry overseas, primarily with children, and I am so excited to be a vessel for the Lord in the future to serve wherever He calls me to. I have been to Ethiopia with the Breakfast Club before and I can’t wait to reunite with the kids and offer any skills I have in order to be an example of Christ’s hope & compassion. Any support for this summer trip, whether it be in prayer or financially, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you & God bless!
Hello! I am Makena Weaver and I am 19 years old. My first trip to Ethiopia I fell completely in love with the culture, food , and especially the people. I have served in other countries but after being at Breakfast Club I know Africa is where my heart is at. The Breakfast Club has given me the opportunity to pursue this passion to serve in Ethiopia even further and I am so thankful. If you would like to support me as well on this journey whether it would be monetary or prayer it would mean the world to me! Thank You!
